I called a couple of dry cleaners and it will cost $30 minimum for each comforter. I am not sure that I want to put them in my washing machine or dryer because I am afraid that I will ruin them because of the feathers. Not to mention I don’t think that the one will fit in my washer. Any suggestions or advice on what you do, would be great.

I really want a down comforter but they are so expensive! I’ve looked into “down alternative” ones instead but i don’t want to sacrifice comfort. Are they that different? Can the average person tell by looking or feeling it? I don’t care about “hypo-allergenic” or even how warm they are, I just love how comfortable they are for sleeping. Would you recommend down alternative for my needs?
